What it is
An address out of a hosting provider’s own range, and a public IP database will say so. There is no home or phone connection anywhere in it. It is fast, it costs little, and it is the first kind of address a site that filters at all will filter. In the order page it is called Datacentre.
One fixed address for the month. It does not rotate.

Honest limits
When a datacenter proxy is the wrong choice
- Anything that filters. This is the first thing a platform blocks, and it is blocked on sight.
- Accounts, sign-ups, checkouts — anywhere a hosting-range address is itself the signal.
- Anything that needs a US state or city. Datacenter proxies are sold by country only.
For sites that filter, a home or carrier address works better: residential proxies by the gigabyte, or ISP proxies by the month.
Use cases
What datacenter proxies are for
Work where being recognisably a server is fine.
Uptime and response checks
Watch your own sites and APIs from another country, from an address that stays put.
Testing and QA
Test geo rules, CDNs, localisation and load behaviour on your own services.
Open data and feeds
Collect public data, feeds and open APIs from sites that serve hosting addresses normally.
